Advent is a special time of waiting and preparing. We are all excited, preparing for the birth of a very special Baby Boy.
At the Sacred Heart Junior School Malta our Year 4 students opened the Christmas season for us with a beautiful assembly that explained the significance of the Advent Wreath and the joy found in waiting for the birth of Jesus.
Our students are enjoying many outings connected to Christmas – visits to local cribs, concerts by the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra and visits to Homes for the elderly to mention just a few!
We have many more exciting activities coming up in the next few weeks. Our Year 1 students are going to tell us the Christmas Story through a special Nativity Play, a Carol Service where the whole school will gather together to rejoice, a Christmas fair where all our students bring and sell toys and gifts with the funds going to charity. It is an exciting time, a time to strengthen our Character by reaching out to others to spread joy, love and happiness.
